Serengeti Luxury Safari — Tanzania
Explore the endless plains, dramatic predator encounters, and the extraordinary Ngorongoro Crater.
The Earth's Greatest Wildlife Stage
A Serengeti safari is a journey into the heart of Africa's most epic ecosystem — a landscape so vast and so alive that it has no parallel on earth. Stretching across 14,750 square kilometres of northern Tanzania, the Serengeti cradles the full annual cycle of the Great Migration: the relentless, ancient movement of over two million wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle across an open plain that seems to dissolve into the horizon. A luxury Tanzania safari here is not simply a wildlife experience — it is an encounter with the fundamental rhythms of life itself.
Our private safari in the Serengeti is designed around your pace and your curiosity. Expert Tanzania safari guides with decades of field experience position you at the precise intersection of predator and prey, Migration and calving ground, kopje and river crossing. Across the endless plains, sightings of lion prides, leopard in fever trees, cheetah in full pursuit, and the gathered spectacle of the wildebeest herds occur not as isolated moments but as continuous, immersive chapters of a story that never ends.
For those seeking to deepen the experience further, our 5-day Ngorongoro Crater safari extension adds a UNESCO World Heritage Site — a collapsed volcanic caldera sheltering one of Africa's most concentrated wildlife populations — to what is already the continent's most celebrated safari destination.
Six Reasons This Safari Stands Apart
Vast Open Plains & Predator Action
The Serengeti's open topography offers some of Africa's finest predator viewing — from resident lion prides to cheetah mothers with cubs and leopards draped in acacia trees. Wildlife encounters here are extended, intimate, and unrestricted.
Ngorongoro Crater — UNESCO World Heritage
The world's largest intact volcanic caldera shelters the densest concentration of wildlife in Africa within its ancient walls. Rhino, lion, flamingo, and elephant share an extraordinary enclosed ecosystem unlike any other on the continent.
Private 4x4 Land Cruiser
Your vehicle is yours exclusively throughout — no shared game drives, no schedules imposed by others. Your guide positions you precisely for optimal wildlife encounters across the Serengeti's multiple ecosystems.
Luxury Tented Camps & Lodges
Every property is personally selected for exceptional location — positioned along the Migration routes or overlooking the Ngorongoro rim — and for the singular quality of their hospitality and conservation commitment.
Cultural Visits with Local Communities
Encounters with Maasai communities in the areas bordering the Serengeti offer a window into a way of life that has coexisted with Africa's great wildlife for centuries — arranged respectfully and authentically.
Expert Tanzania Safari Guides
Our senior guides hold Tanzania National Parks accreditations and bring decades of tracking expertise, natural history knowledge, and storytelling depth that transforms every drive into an illuminating experience.
Tanzania Safari Itineraries
Both itineraries are fully private and customizable. The 5-day option includes a Ngorongoro Crater descent for a complete Tanzania safari experience.
Arrival & First Game Drive
Fly from Arusha or Kilimanjaro to the Serengeti airstrip — a flight that in itself is an introduction to the scale of Tanzania's northern wilderness. Your guide meets you on the grass strip. A welcome lunch at camp is followed by an afternoon drive into the central Serengeti, where the lion prides of the Seronera Valley are among the most reliably sighted on the continent.
Full Day Serengeti Safari
A complete day on the plains — beginning at dawn when the light is low and golden and the predators are still active from the night. Your guide tracks the movements of cheetah, leopard, and wild dog through the morning, repositioning throughout the day as the herds shift. Between December and March, the southern Serengeti holds the wildebeest calving season, producing extraordinary predator-prey encounters.
Morning Game Drive & Departure
One final drive in the early morning light — often when the Serengeti is at its most serene and the sightings most intimate — before a late breakfast at camp. Transfer to the airstrip for your onward flight to Arusha, Kilimanjaro, or your next destination.
Arrival in Arusha
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Transfer to a luxury property in Arusha for a night's rest before your safari begins. Your guide briefs you over dinner — outlining the route, the wildlife you may expect, and the seasonal conditions that will shape the days ahead.
Serengeti Exploration
Fly or drive to the Serengeti, arriving in time for an afternoon game drive through the central corridor. The journey into the park itself is a spectacle — passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with its vast highland plains and Maasai herds before descending into the Serengeti basin.
Great Migration Tracking
A full day following the Great Migration routes — whether through the southern calving grounds (December–March), the western corridor river crossings (May–June), or the northern Serengeti river crossings (July–October). Your guide tracks herd movements in real time, positioning you for maximum impact.
Ngorongoro Crater Safari
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater — a collapsed volcanic caldera 19 kilometres across and sheltering Africa's most concentrated wildlife. Black rhino, lion, elephant, flamingo, and hyena share the crater floor in extraordinary density. The descent itself, through cloud forest, is an experience in its own right.
Departure
Final morning on the crater rim with views across the caldera at sunrise. Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or onward connection. Your guide accompanies you to ensure a seamless departure from Tanzania.

Best Time to Visit the Serengeti
The Serengeti is a year-round destination with a Migration that moves continuously. Each season offers a different chapter of the same extraordinary story. Our specialists advise on the optimal timing for your interests.
The wildebeest calving season in the southern Serengeti draws the greatest concentration of predators in Africa. Extraordinary encounters. January and February are particularly remarkable.
The Migration moves north into the Grumeti and Mara river corridors. Dramatic river crossings and peak wildlife density. The dry season makes for optimal game viewing conditions across all ecosystems.
Lion, leopard, cheetah, and wild dog are resident across the Serengeti throughout the year. The Seronera Valley hosts one of Africa's highest lion densities regardless of season.
